Macpackers Independent Hostel

W e are a small independent hostel located in Belfast city centre, close to Queen's University.

We like to emphasise on being small and friendly, so expect a warm welcome when you arrive at our hostel. The first question that you are likely to be asked when you come through our front door ( after your first name, of course) is whether you'd like a cup of tea or or a cup coffee). You'll then be invited to sit down and make yourself at home while you enjoy the "craic" with the other hostellers and staff.

We'll then give you a map of the city , show you some of the highlights to see and do and let you get on with it.

Our hostel has 19 beds and all of the rooms have only 3 or 4 beds. We've all been in 20 bedded dorms, been woken up by people coming in at all hours of the night and then getting a dawn chorus of early birds rustling their plastic bags as they attempt to leave before 7, and said never again. Now's your chance.

The hostel has 2 kitchens and 2 lounge rooms. One lounge room plays host to a television and video, while the other houses a ridiculously good stereo where you can while away the hours listening to your cd's or make your way through our own extensive music collection.

The hostel is situated just off the tree lined Botanic Avenue, probably Belfast's most cosmopolitan of streets, which is crammed full of the cities best pubs and restaurants (Chinese, Indian, Morrocan, Italian, etc.)

There are 2 small super markets (one 24 hour) within yards of the hostel, as well as a number of fast food joints.

A couple of minutes away at the end of Botanic Avenue, you'll find the beautiful Botanic gardens, home to the Ulster Museum, a couple of palm and exotic plant houses and an amazing array of trees and flora collected from every corner of the globe.

Another feature of our hostel is that black cab tours leave from our hostel every day. If you want to know more about black cab tours, check out the link at the bottom of the page.
